Anvesha Sharma

It was a stormy night,

That destroyed it all,

The wind was the foe,

It had fallen the biggest branch.

The rain accompanied the storm,

That had made it easy for the soil,

To digest the branch.

.

After the storm,

A branch refuses to let go any of its leaves,

Or let it meet any other branch.

It can’t bear the weight of shaken tree again,

And thus it refuses to follow other branches,

And make its own path,

Swiftly falling apart.

Oh, what’s the difference between a woman and a mare?

Treated as a property by their master,

Tied with a rope when they wander.

Beaten with a stick when they do something they shouldn’t dare,

Oh, what’s the difference between a woman and a mare?
